I am a former primary headteacher with twenty six years of experience in teaching, following an early career spent in agriculture and church work, much of it with young people. I have taught mainly in urban settings, with the accompanying deprivation and challenge for many pupils, though also with the tremendous rewards of seeing children making amazing progress against the odds.
My leadership and management experience has included working transformationally with staff teams in a variety of primary schools in the North East Lincolnshire area, as well as partnership with a wide variety of agencies to secure the best possible holistic education and pastoral outcomes for children and families.
As a freelance educational consultant my areas of interest and expertise are behaviour management, assessment and the effective use of Pupil Premium. As well as delivering independent consultancy and INSET for school leadership teams and teaching and learning staff, I have worked with a wide variety of partner organisations to deliver training, including Chris Quigley Education, NAHT Yorkshire, Understanding ModernGov, Prospects Education on their LPPA award, and Middlesex University on their Families and Schools Together programme. An exciting development is a new collaboration with Learning Cultures Limited on my Pupil Premium training, so I look forward to supporting even more schools and academies in this crucial area of provision. I am happy to visit schools, academies and other educational settings anywhere in England to see if I can help you to find the solution you are seeking.
Since September 2015 I have had my own company called Nigel Bishop Education Ltd, with my wife Jackie and I as directors.
